ADDICTION RECOVERY & TRAUMA HEALING Workshop

A collaborative project with compassion and a mission for collective healing

A workshop on Addiction Recovery from a trauma-informed and attachment-based perspective delivered by the very inspiring Saf Buxy from Saf’s Surgery and Sharmi from Stepping Stones Psychology. Saf is an Addiction Coach who has helped and interviewed many people. Saf is adopted and has experienced early trauma and attachment trauma himself, and is also a recovered addict. As a survivor of trauma, abuse and addiction, and is now turning all his painful experiences into helping others who are where he once was.

On 27th July together at 6pm we will be doing a video launch for our new collaboration. We would also like to invite you to a FREE Taster Session, which we will be hosting on 3rd August at 6pm for those of you who are interested in attending our workshop. Our 2-hour workshops will take place on 10th and 17th August at 6pm via Zoom.

A brief overview on we will cover in this workshop:

Saf’s Addiction Recovery work will include, but not being limited to, the following:

  • Compassionate guidance
  • Exploring and helping you become more aware of your biggest ‘stumbling blocks’ when it comes to addiction recovery
  • The Conscious Recovery Method
  • An Introduction to the 12 Steps Overview
  • A plan with day-to-day actions, as well as creating an inspiring structure congruent to the values and vision of Saf’s Surgery
  • Buxy Method on Self. This will help you taking steps to start loving yourself
  •  You will start developing the power to collapse the judgements, noise and perceptions that hold you back
  • You will start developing the power to collapse the deep rooted judgements that dictate our perceptions, decisions and actions

Sharmi’s Attachment & Trauma Healing work will include, but not being limited to, the following:

  • Safety & Stabilisation, including Resource Building: Developing tools to manage your triggers better
  • Psycho-education around the link between Addiction and Trauma, including Childhood Emotional Neglect (CEN): Understanding how your childhood or past trauma is linked to your addiction issues
  • Psycho-education around the link between Addiction and Attachment: Understanding how your attachment history is linked to your addiction
  • Psycho-education around the Body-Mind Connection when it comes to Addiction and Trauma (biology): Understanding your brain and body’s role when it comes to addiction
  • Introduction to Subconscious Healing work: Exploring and making sense of the root cause of our early wounds and taking the first step in healing them
  • Therapeutic Writing exercises: Re-framing Statements to help rewiring your brain from toxic shame and guilt to self-acceptance, self-compassion and self-forgiveness
  • Therapeutic Writing exercises: Making sense of One’s Attachment History and the role it plays in Addiction

This will be a 2-days workshop. This will be a great investment and a cost-effective way to access therapeutic support and intervention from two specialists in the field of trauma and addiction.
